Why this matters

When the body won't stand down.

Modern stress often leaves the body behaving as though something needs handling, even when nothing does. Over time that can show up as muscle tension, shallow sleep, a racing mind and a general sense of being wound a little too tight. Chinese medicine has described this pattern for a long time, in its own language, as a mind and spirit that can't quite settle.

How we approach it

Every appointment starts with a proper conversation: how you've been sleeping, how wound-up you feel day to day, and what's actually going on in your life right now. A Chinese medicine assessment is completed before any treatment begins, so your session is shaped around your presentation, not a standard protocol.

Treatment itself is deliberately unhurried. Gentle acupuncture in a warm, quiet room, then time to simply rest with the needles in place — often the most restful part of someone's week.

What's included

  • Time to talk through how stress is actually showing up for you
  • A Chinese medicine assessment considering sleep, mood and energy alongside physical tension
  • A treatment tailored to your presentation, not a fixed formula
  • Simple, realistic suggestions to carry some of that calm home

Treatments are provided by an AHPRA-registered practitioner. New patients welcome.

Good to know

Common questions.

Can acupuncture get rid of my stress?

Acupuncture isn't a cure, and no honest practitioner will promise to remove stress from your life. What it can offer is support: a calm, unhurried space and a technique many people find helps the body shift out of constant alertness.

How is stress different from burnout?

Stress is often a response to something specific and time-limited. Burnout tends to build gradually from sustained pressure, and can leave you feeling depleted even after rest. Both are welcome reasons to book, and your assessment will consider which pattern fits you.

How many sessions will I need?

That varies. We'll suggest a rhythm after your initial appointment and review it as we go, rather than committing you to a fixed course upfront.

Is this instead of seeing my GP?

No. Acupuncture can sit alongside your other care, but it isn't a substitute for medical advice. If stress is significantly affecting your health, please also speak with your GP.

What does a stress-focused session feel like?

Gentle acupuncture in a warm, quiet room, followed by time to simply rest with the needles in place. Many people find this the most restful part of their week.
